Introduction to the characteristics of the criminal justice in the investigation of crime, including organization of the
system in the United States. Focus is placed on examining investigative process, crime scene searches, interviewing
crime measurement, theoretical explanations of crime, and interrogating, surveillance, source of information,
responses to crime, components of the system, and utility of evidence, scientific analysis of evidence and the
current challenges to the system. The course examines role of the investigator in the trial process. Introduces
the evolution of the principles and approaches utilized the fundamentals of investigation, crime scene search
