Welcome to the November/December edition of Something’s Brewing eMagazine. I do hope
you enjoy all the content.
Well, 2023 is nearly over and what a year it has been both from a BSA viewpoint and the wider
world. In a constant effort to avoid politics and national economics, I will cover the work and the
success of the BSA.
Two years ago, we decided to change our financial year and now this has washed through the
system it has proven a major benefit to our finance management and we know early in the calendar
year how our budget is looking. Since the BSA is staffed almost completely by volunteers our
outgoings are under tight control and we can stick to the principle that all our members'
contributions are spent on member services and benefits.
We had two networking and
company tour events this year
at Qualitasse in Basingstoke
(April) and Espresso Solutions
in Crawley (September). We are
planning to take this format
further afield and more
frequently in 2024 to cover the
west and north of England and
potentially an event in Scotland
too.
BSA members’ visit Qualitasse, Basingstoke to look at their roaster and cup manufacturing facilities
Fracino, Birmingham hosted the BSA’s 2023 AGM
In late June we held a successful and well
attended AGM and factory tour at Fracino
in Birmingham. This was followed by a
meal in Birmingham afterwards and this
will be the template for the AGM in 2024. NOVEMBER/DECEMBER. 2023 | ISSUE 33
