A couple of blocks away stands the Mercado Municipal consisting of little concrete
stalls prettily decorated on one side with tiles depicting various details of life in the
past and present here. The stalls are not tourist meccas; they are the places where
the locals buy the things they need for daily life - clothing, kitchenware, gadgets, CDs
and the like. It too seemed a busy and friendly place.
