A year later, we were married by Reverend Hubert Taylor on June 25, 1955, in the
Riverside Park Baptist Church on Roselle Street. Her bridesmaid was Lois Carter, her
brother’s wife. My best man was my brother, Richard. We spent the night in a motel on
Third Street in Jacksonville Beach. There was a dance hall a couple of blocks away that
played loud dance music until the wee hours of the morning.
