When I met her, she had a sales job at Grayson’s, a women’s apparel store on Laura St.
                   We like to meet for lunch at the lunch counter in the Kress Five and Ten Cent Store on
                   the corner of Main and Adams Streets. We each often ordered one of their delicious hot
                   dogs.
















































                   Virginia’s father, Henry Carter, was a carpenter who built houses in Cedar Hills for
                   Charles Scheurer.at the time the city was expanding to the southwest and worked on
                   houses in Alderman Park off the Arlington Expressway during the boom of the late
                   1950’s. His wife, Eunice, was a homemaker and was devoted to working with babies
                   and toddlers in her west Jacksonville church.
