OBITUARY
Shimane Felix Mashike a.k.a. Buda was
born on 02 July 1943 at Pankop,
Mpumalanga. The third child of the
late Mr and Mrs Mashike.
He started school in Alexandra at Dr Knak Primary
School, and proceeded to Alexandra Secondary School
where he completed JC (Grade Nine).
He started working at Hoplong in Alexandra. Then
moved to Cardbury, Denver, Johannesburg where he
subsequently retired due to an injury. He got married to
the late Maria Zwane in 1977 and were blessed with
four children.
Buda known in the soccer fraternity had a lustrous
soccer career playing and coaching adults and youth
through his life until he was called to glory on 25
January 2023.
He is survived by three children, three sisters, 14
grandchildren, two great grandchildren, nieces and
nephews. In the words of Napoleon Bonaparte he says
“In the end all that matters is what you have done”. So
Buda’s work is evident throughout the soccer fraternity
till this day.
May his soul rest in eternal peace.
