Abstract
Piety is the foundation of all virtues. Parents spent most of their lives to raiseˣ
care and educate children.They have been very hard to bring their children to an adult.
A matter of that sons and daughters consider it a moral obligation to show filial
respect for their parents.
After raising his own parents by filial piety, the researcher discovered that most
young people in their hometown work in other locality and the elderly lack of
relatives accompany. Therefore, his sympathies arise and have the idea of organizing
volunteers to care for the elderly.
Because of the low birth rate in Taiwan, the population structure is aging at a
rapid rate,and the problem of insufficient human resources for care is tricky. How to
make the elderly safe and KHDOWK DQG WR DFKLHYH WKH ³DFWLYH DJHLQJ´ SURPRWHG E\ WKH
World Health Organization is an important issue. The fewer disabled elderly people
are, the lighter the social burden is. Therefore, helping the elderly to maintain their
physical and mental health and self-care ability ; thus, the elderly will not be
"dependent population."
The purpose of this research is as follows :
1.Presenting and recording life history of Tien-Fa, to promote filial piety and
encourage social to help others and support the elderly.
2.Presenting the achievements of the founder Tien-Fa RI +RQGDR 6HQLRU &LWL]HQ¶V
Welfare Foundation Dalin Branch(HSCWFDB) and its great impact on family and
society.
A review of the important research findings:
1. HSCWFDB help the elderly to improve their physical and mental health, also
reduce the loneliness of solitary elder.HSCWFDB has been Widely supported and
recognized by the public.
2.Volunteers' selfless dedication shows that "it is more blessed to give than to give."
3.Counselling active elderly people from caretakers to volunteers, and serving others
as well.
4.It conforms that mass society shows the spirit of Honour the aged of other family as
we honour our own,and create a world of great harmony.
