GOLF
CHALLENGE
.
The 2020 Men?s Inter-community Golf Challenge was
held on the 4th February with 16 communities competing for the Alan Burgess Trophy. Organised by Steve Bird, with assistance from Eamonn O?Connor
They started small: five membersof staff and with our helpline housed in a small room in Hammersmith hospital. It ran one day a week.
They merged with Prostate Action in 2012 and completely rebranded to form Prostate Cancer UK. In the last 20 years, they?ve invested over £37 million into ground-breaking research, and continue to provide award-winning support for men.
They have grown in size, strength and influence but their ambition is the same: to put men at the heart of everything they do.
So , f o l l o w i n g o n f r o m p r e v i o u s M e n ?s I n t e r C o m m u n i t y golf events, Prostate Cancer UK was again chosen as our charity to support. This charity is extremely relevant to men and especially those of usat LMC.

History: The Prostate Cancer Charity was founded in 1996 by Professor Jonathan Waxman to address the 'Outrageous and arbitrary surgical treatment of men'.
They were the first national organisation for prostate cancer in the UK. Their aim wasto improve the care and welfare of those affected by prostate cancer, increase investment in research, and raise public and political awarenessof a long-neglected disease.
