2. The Australian Qualifications Framework

(AQF)

The Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) created a national system of cross-sectoral
qualifications capable of supporting the increasingly diverse needs of the workforce and learners in
the Vocational Education and Training sector. This diagram shows the interlinking and pathways
that relate to the various qualification levels.
Graduating from MILCOM Institute or another Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) provider
can qualify you for entry to University, so many learners who did not successfully complete the year
12 use it as a stepping stone to a University qualification.
