In July 2006, for the very first time, the refinery opened its doors to the
public – almost 40 years after work began to construct it. This was a
huge undertaking: allowing the general public on site at one of the most
complex refineries in Europe. It was, of course, a feather in the refinery’s

were rebranded following the decision in Houston, with largescale
activity to underline the change in the heart of the US financial district.
