for the future.
We really are Fuelling the Future.
It seems apt and right that, as we celebrate 50 years of providing energy
and improving lives, we commemorate our past and share our thoughts Darren Cunningham
and dreams of the future of Phillips 66 Humber Refinery. Lead Executive UK,
General Manager Humber Refinery.
It is the people - the Humber family - who make our refinery as strong
and successful as it is. The people whose vision it was to build it here,
on the east coast of England… those whose visionary thinking around
how the refinery should be built, the products it should make and the
ground-breaking way it was to be managed - the sort of thinking that
was way ahead of its time.
This book has been written with the help of archived materials and
recollections from retirees, serving as a living bridge with the past. It
makes no pretence of being a comprehensive history of the 18,250
days and thousands of personalities that helped make the first half-
century colourful, exciting and productive.
We hope it will give you an interesting potted journey through the life
of the refinery, highlighting how we have progressed and how we have
faced and overcome challenges, on a constant search for improvements
to help continue supplying energy - in more ways and to more people -
across the world.
