                Definition of Recount Text

                   A recount is a text that retells past event in the order they happened. It tells the
               readers what happened in the past. A recount begins by telling the readers who was
               involved, what happened, where the events took place and when it happened.

                Purpose of Recount Text
                    Purpose is to inform or to entertain the audience about experiences in the past.

                Generic Structure of Recount Texts

                    a. Orientation
                        It gives information about who, what, where and when the story happened.

                    b. Events
                        A series of paragraph that retell the events in the order which they happened.

                    c. Reorientation
                        A personal comment about the event or what happened in the end.

               Language Features of Recount Texts
                   Recount texts have some language features, such as :
                   a. Using the simple past tense, past continuous tense, past perfect tense, and past
               perfect
                       continuous tense.
                   b. Frequent use is made of words which link events in time, such as next, later, when,
                       then, after, before, fist, at the same time, as soon as she left, late on Friday, on
               Saturday,
                       on Monday, on Sunday.
                   c. Focus on a specific participants, example :  I (the writer).
                   d. Using the conjunctions, such as: then, before, after, etc.
                   e. The passive voice may be used, example : The bottle was filled with ink

                    f. Using action verbs (give, go, etc )
                    g. using linking verb (was, were, went, etc )
