The Casa Brasil Story

Casa Brasil Coffees started as a vibrant Brazilian Cultural Cen-
ter in Hyde Park in Austin, Texas. As Brazilians living in Central
Texas, their goal was to bring Brazil to them, and provide a
touch of their country to Texans. Among the services offered
at this center were free translations for immigration, legal and
medical help, Portuguese language classes and even Brazilian
music lessons. Of course, the Brazilian coffee was offered, it
wasn’t up to the coffee-lovers’ standards. Founder Joel Shuler
spent six months in Brazil, learning about coffee, interning at
coops, visiting farms and learning how to bring the perfect
cup of Brazilian coffee to the heart of Austin.
