Arkansas Fallen Firefighter Memorial
Johnny Reep announced that the dedication for the memorial will be March 22nd at 1
pm.
Legislation
President Jaros announced that James Lee Whitt is going to formally announce his

Fourth District Democratic Congressional candidacy at the Hot Springs on April 5 . He
th
asked for all the locals in the 4 District to try and attend.
President Jaros gave an update on issue of on the job mental injury. Wade and Ed
have had two meetings with the AML and have come out of the meetings with a couple
of ideals and Wade is working on language for legislation.
APFF Convention
During the convention there will be a demonstration on CPAT equipment. President
Jaros is hoping to convince the Fire Chiefs throughout the state to have state wide
physical fit agility test for candidates. If a candidate pass the test they will be eligible for
any department in the state.
Local News
President Jaros informed the member that the Governor has taken no action on the
names that the APFF has submitted for the Arkansas Advisory Board.
President Jaros said IAFF VP Danny Todd has advised him that several Locals in
Arkansas have not submitted their salary survey to the IAFF.
Malvern Fire Department is having an issue with the ambulance service and is
considering looking into fire based ambulance service for their department.
Harrison's Local is working on a local sale tax issue. The city has decided to place the
tax issue on the ballot. Wade has helped Harrison's Local showing them how to run a
sale tax issue.
