Govind is one up having gone to Trinity although his schooling could have been so much better by going to Mayo instead of Doon! It was over a decade ago that we traveled together on the Oxford and Cambridge Trip to Japan. Whilst we were unable to meet the Crown Prince, now Emperor Naruhito, Govind, in a very matter of fact way said we could still meet (the senior Royal) Princess Isato Takamato. This incident only reflects two aspects of Govind’s personality - knowing the high and mighty around the world
and a very understated superiority. Two words describe Govind - class and style. His obvious charm, his suave demeanour, his gentle humour ( and indeed his appreciation of good humour!), his dependability as a friend and a most agreeable lunch ( and travel ) companion and you have in Govind a great character who in fact looks
younger than his 70 - and I don’t mean 69!
