Inferences for a Methodology of Preaching

The Centrality of Preaching

As it is noted in the first chapter, the Korean church was characterized by her strong

emphasis on worship and preaching from her infancy. Preachers put their strongest emphasis on

the preaching and teaching of the Bible. Korean people inherently respected the sacred book and

followed its moral teachings as they did with any religious writing from any religion transplanted

in Korean peninsula. The Korean church loved the Scripture; and consequently, it is not an

overstatement that the Korean church was a Bible-centered church. The Great Revival in Korea

that happened in 1907 was preceded by daily the Bible in preparation for evangelistic services at

night.
