2024 REPORT OF THE
TOWN MANAGER
The Town has hired a design firm to provide reuse options and
engineering for the conversion of the historic garage to an
open-air pavilion. Site plans, including space for a canoe
launch, are being developed internally by Town Engineer
Michael Ohrenberger. I am excited to make additional progress
on this project over the coming year.
Other community-driven initiatives include two new
community events: Remembrance Trees and Celebrate
Middleborough. This year was our first annual round of
Remembrance Trees, where individuals had the opportunity to
decorate a tree as part of a display on the Town Hall Lawn.
Future proceeds from this event will go to local food pantries
for the holiday season. The first annual Celebrate
Middleborough event was also a success. This family oriented
New Year celebration included a noise parade, fireworks, and
bonfire. We intend to continue holding this event annually.

Finally, I am grateful to all those who provided support in the
Town Manager’s Ofice, including Assistant to the Town
Manager Emily Surette, Grant Writer Stephanie Hall, and
Assistant to the Select Board Michele Coyle.
Respectfully submitted,
James McGrail
