1 Prime Factorization

Basic Concepts Prime Factorization

A number that has 1 and itself as its only factors, such as 2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13, is
called a prime number.
To express a number as a product of prime numbers is called a prime
factorization. A factor tree can be useful to write the prime factorization of a
number. When using a factor tree, a number is divided into two numbers such
that the product of these two numbers is the original number. Division is stopped
when the last number of each branch becomes a prime number.
