Let’s find a pattern rule to guess the 9th number in the number pattern.

Pattern 1. Each player cuts his/her number pattern made on the previous page into four
Finder cards. Decide who will be the tagger and the player.
2. Place the Pattern Finder board aside. Each player selects one game piece and
puts it on the Start of the board.
3. The tagger puts one of his/her cards into the pattern finder which has all closed
covers. Then place chip on top of the cover 9.
4. The tagger opens the covers in order from 1 to show the numbers to the player.
Open the cover H(Hint) with one closed cover when the player wants to see the
hint.

5. When the player guesses the number behind the chip and the rule, the player
puts his/her hand up and says the number and the rule. The tagger opens the
chip to check. If the player is wrong, moves his/her game piece one space to
the ‘−’ and continues to play.
6. Play until the player guesses the number and the rule correctly and moves the
game piece to the ‘+’ as many spaces as closed covers.
7. Switch roles and play until using all the number pattern cards. The player who
moves his/her game piece further to the ‘+’ wins.
