Basic Concepts One-Line Drawing

Drawing an entire shape without lifting the Even-point
pencil or retracing is called one-line drawing.

If the number of lines connected to a point is Even-point Odd-point
an odd number, is it called an odd-point. If the Odd-point
number of lines connected to a point is an even

Even-point

number, it is called an even-point. One-line
drawing is possible in shapes with zero or two
odd points.

Example Find all the shapes in which one-line drawing is possible.

Class Notes

There are odd-points. Therefore, one-line drawing is Odd-point

(possible, impossible).

There are odd-points. Therefore, one-line drawing is (possible,

impossible). When there are two odd-points, start drawing from one
odd-point and finish at the other.

Try It Again Find the number of odd-points and determine if one-line
drawing is possible.
