Making greater or less remainders
Let’s make division sentences with the greatest or the least remainder.
Material: 64 Number cards
1 Prepare sixty-four number cards.
2 Shuffle all the number cards face down.
3 Each player takes three number cards and makes a division sentence
(2-digit) ÷ (1-digit) with the greatest remainder. Place the least number
from the selected numbers in the tens place.
Example 45 8= 5 r 5
48 5= 9 r 3
4 Compare the remainders. The player who makes the division sentence
with greater remainders wins.
