(A) For example, the polar ice caps are

melting. This means animals that live there

may soon be gone. ,

sea levels are rising faster than ever before.

In a few hundred years, cities in the coast

like New York and Los Angeles could be

under water.

(B) However, people are working to solve the problem. Electric cars will cut
down on harmful gases. Also, more people are using energy from the sun
and the wind. One day, this could replace coal and oil, which are very
harmful to the environment. With enough work, we can make our Earth
healthy again.

(C) The Earth’s environment faces many hazards . Pollution is one of the
worst, especially gases from cars and factories. These gases trap heat close
to the Earth; this is called the greenhouse effect. The Earth’s temperature is

rising, and many things are happening as a result.
