Tree Diagrams and Number of Possibilities
Tree diagrams are used to find all the possible ways that a given incident can occur by drawing a shape similar
to tree branches.
When finding the number of possibilities for more than two incidents or for complex cases, a systematic
approach is needed. When using a tree diagram, you can easily see if there are any missing or repeated
possibilities. It is especially convenient to use a tree diagram when the cases have a specific sequence.
