Pine Ridge Vineyards was founded in 1978 in the
Stags Leap District of Napa Valley, the first region to
be designated an American Viticultural Area based on
the distinctiveness of its soils. Ranging from volcanic

deposits to gravelly clay, these soils produce Cabernet
Sauvignon with the unique combination of great power
and unusual softness and grace.

Often referred to as “a valley within a valley,” the
renowned Stags Leap District is flanked by a dramatic
outcropping of rock to the east, known as the Stags Leap
Palisades, and a pine-lined ridge to the west. Deep within

this ridge, the corridors of our natural caves twist and turn
for nearly a mile. Here our age-worthy wines continue
their evolution in barrel, protected from the elements by
130 feet of cool, naturally insulating earth.
