Steps For A Great Facial At Home Experts agree that you should treat
yourself to a facial four times a year. A good rule of thumb is to have one at the beginning
of each season. If you can’t get a professional facial why not try one at home? You can
achieve the same spa benefits by following these steps.
Cleanse
Gently massage into your skin to wash away surface impurities. Always rinse with cool water.
Exfoliate
The purpose of exfoliation is to remove dead skin cells to reveal a smoother complexion.
Purchase any brand of exfoliator from the drugstore or make your own.
Take one tablespoon of sugar; add a few drops of sweet almond, jojoba or olive oil. Mix well
and gently massage skin in a circular motion, avoiding from the eyes. Rinse with warm water
and pat dry. Do not over exfoliate. For oily skin exfoliate no more than three times a week
and no more than once a week for dry or sensitive skin.
Steam
Steam is essential for deep cleansing. A hot, moist wash cloth on your face will open your
pores just fine. Dampen the cloth under the hottest water best for you and wring it out the
excess water. Hold the cloth on your face for a minute or two and then splash some cool
water to stop the heat.
