Social Media Musings – Part III My Reflections on the Practice and Life
   But now, I realize I’ll take wisdom over
brute strength everyday and twice on Sunday. Having perspective, having the right paradigm, the proper prism through which to see life and the world, is a superpower reserved for us when we get older.
When you’re in the middle of a misstep, rejection or setback, it can feel earth shattering. Years later, when you look back at it, you’ll realize it wasn’t that big of a deal and that you needed it for your growth and development.
There’s a difference between a weakness and a fear. Each of us has strengths and weaknesses, talents and shortcomings.
I believe we’re endowed with talents to develop them. I believe we have weaknesses to direct us away from paths that waste
our time and energies that should be
focused on our talents. There is a difference, though, between a weakness and a fear. For years, I was afraid of public speaking and
I misconstrued that fear as a weakness - I thought I wasn’t talented enough to speak to an audience. What I would come to realize is that it wasn’t a lack of talent, but it was a self imposed roadblock. Determine whether what’s holding you back is a lack of talent or an abundance of fear. if the former, you may want to reconsider your path. If the latter, you may want to trudge forward.
When you define a goal, develop a plan to pursue it, and pursue it wholeheartedly, you’ll be surprised how quickly you’ll achieve it.
To turn a new activity into a habit, you have to be very conscious of doing it and pursuing it for 3 consecutive weeks. If you can hit the 21 day mark, you will generally find that you
