 researched, selected and contracts executed. The “perfect wedding” was a mere 3 months, 4 days away! The planning, by the Bride and Mother-of-the-Bride, was impeccable.
As the calendar turned to 2020, last minute, fine-tuning for the wedding were under way. Both families attended the delicious food-tasting with the caterer to make our final menu selections. All beverages for the bar hand-selected including a wine tasting at our home. Flowers for the Church, decorations for the reception, you name it, were carefully selected.
Our youngest daughter, Marjorie Anne (Maid-of-Honor), planned a spectacular bachelorette weekend for February 13 – 16, 2020 in the Bahamas at the Baha Mar Resort for the soon-to-be Bride and 14 Bridesmaids. They had a memorable time, and with the wedding less than two months out, everyone was counting the days until the big day!
Then something strange and unpleasant started to happen. . .
While we were hearing reports of an unusual and dangerous virus outbreak in the northeast and west coast in large cities, we really did not think it would affect our lives in Columbia, S.C. Then on March 1, 2020, there was an outbreak of COVID-19 in a small city just forty-five minutes outside Columbia. Shortly thereafter, on March 15, 2020, the Governor of South Carolina issued an Order closing public schools and
