FDCC Looking Ahead
the Greenbrier and the FDCC follow strict Covid protocols. Masking is no longer required
on the property. Nevertheless to remain safe, the number of guests in our afternoon activities will be limited. To compensate for these limitations, we will be offering more activities with more time slots for each activity than usual. To avoid disappointment and better increase your chances of getting the activities you want,
we encourage you to sign up for activities as soon as possible.
In the meantime, we continue monitoring the developments at the Resort and will keep you advised of any changes.
While this meeting undoubtedly will be different from any meeting we have ever held, there will
still be plenty of opportunities
for celebration, fellowship and networking. We are planning a beautiful President’s Reception under the stars, a Family Reunion Theme Party at Kate’s Mountain Lodge, a delicious Dessert Party and a Gala befitting of the 85th anniversary of the FDCC.
And Program Chair Casey Stansbury is planning a stellar program to help you “Shoot for the Stars.” The program will be structured unlike any other FDCC program. Our Section Meetings will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings and will address cutting edge legal issues. The Plenary will consist of two

power-packed hours each day. The first hour will be star presentations by our very own FDCC members. The second hour will be our daily keynote speakers.
Here’s the lineup:
We will kick-off with Nicole Stott,
a U.S. Astronaut who will tell us about her experiences in space and her next mission which is focused on encouraging young girls to become interested in space and engineering.
Captain Richard Phillips will recount the riveting story of being captured by Somali Pirates, his leadership in protecting his crew and their rescue by the U.S. Navy Seals.
Our final speaker will be acclaimed singer, songwriter Steven Page, formerly of the Barenaked Ladies. In 2011, Mr. Page acknowledged his own battles with mental health issues. He will share his journey and how he sought help to find his own voice. Mr. Page will also treat us to a “welcome back” surprise at the end of his presentation. So start warming up your singing voices
and get ready to reach for the stars!
We have secured a room block with room rates starting at $295 per night and a reduced resort
fee of $20.00 per day. In addition, the resort has agreed to donate the Historic Property Assessment back to the FDCC Foundation. For families traveling with children, The Greenbrier has agreed to a reduced rate per child for their morning “Adventure Zone.”
Please check the website for the agenda and complete details.
You can get to The Greenbrier by plane, train and/or automobile; so start looking at whatever mode of transportation you would like to use to get you there – and let’s spend a family-friendly week together, reconnecting with old friends and making new ones.
We can’t wait to welcome you back ... it’s been far too long.
