We have a spectacular time planned for you at the Federation’s 2022 Winter
Meeting – and it’s not too soon to start planning! Please plan to arrive at the J.W. Marriott Desert Springs Resort &
Spa in Palm Desert, California, on Saturday, March 5 and plan to depart on Thursday, March 10, 2022 if you want to
J.W. Marriott Desert Springs Resort, Desert Springs, CA
have the most fun with your FDCC family. If you have any interest
in attending the first round of
the BNP Paribas Tennis Open at Indian Wells, then plan to stay until Friday, March 11 - FYI, that is what Holly and I plan to do. Our special rate at the hotel will be available for 3 days before and 3 days after the meeting.
The theme of the program is The Best is Yet to Come. Your Program Chair, Lauren Curtis, is putting together an incredible line-up
of speakers to address the most topical and interesting subjects for CLE credit on the theme of Next Level Lawyering... more on that to follow.
The meeting will include a program that is tailor-made
for our Corporate Counsel and Industry members, thanks to our incoming Corporate Counsel Chair, Jeff Kelsey, and the team
he’s put together. We will also have a Masters in Marketing workshop, with a focus on marketing in the social media space. FedLife will also feature a segment that will wonderfully augment the overall program. A special thanks to Frank Ramos, Kile Turner, Lee Hall and Sean Griffin for their work for us in these areas.
For the play harder element of our “Work Hard/Play Harder” motto, Bob and Erin Christie, Lauren Curtis, and I traveled to Palm Desert for our site visit June 9 - 12 accompanied by Martha Heinze and Jessica Highly from FDCC Headquarters. We will offer you a wide array of fun, interesting, and exciting activities that range from:
• experiencing the ultimate BMW driving experience on several different race tracks (that is you racing - not being driven),
• to a mid-century modern architectural tour of approximately 40 historical homes (many were the homes of some of the greatest stars of
Hollywood),
• to hiking, biking, and four- wheeling in the desert along the San Andreas fault line and in the desert oasis of Indian Reservations,
• to a cook-off championship round at the hotel’s creative kitchen,
• to an opportunity to fly in a T-28 Trojan, a PT-17 Stearman, a P-51D Mustang, a T-33 Shooting Star Jet, and a C-47 Skytrain at the Air Museum (rated #14 of all Air Museums in the World and Ranked # 1 by Trip Advisor of 98 things to do in Palm Springs),
• to a tour of the Living Desert Zoo and Gardens (rated as the top 1% of all attractions in the U.S.),
• to many other exceptional opportunities.
We look forward to spending this special time with you next March. If you have any questions or want to discuss the plan, feel free to contact me.
