as a Vice Chair of the Property Insurance Section. Halfway into the year, the committee that was planning the Insurance Industry Institute (I-3) conference needed help, and I volunteered to help with planning.
Fast forward to 2020, which was a year like no other! Again, I raised my hand. At our last in-person meeting, Mike Glascott and I discussed my involvement with different committees. Shortly after that meeting, the world shut down, but the FDCC did not! A new committee was formed to offer a virtual I-3 conference for 2020 so I volunteered to help with the planning. I was also asked
to serve as Chair of the Property Insurance Section; and I was asked to serve as Vice Chair for the 2021 I-3 conference, the Professional
Women’s Forum, and FedLIFE committee. As part of the FedLIFE committee, I have organized a
new committee “FedCooks” and several virtual activities (which is ironic since I’m not a great cook), but it has been such a fun way to spend time with other FDCC home cook members. be included in the ranks of these lawyers who were looked to as leaders in their respective legal communities. At that moment, I told myself that I was going to raise my hand and get involved in the FDCC.
I told everyone I met at the meeting that I wanted to be an active member. I wanted to be involved;
I wanted to serve on committees; and I wanted to contribute to the FDCC. And the FDCC took me
up on it! I was asked to sit on the Admissions Committee and serve
