“Paving The Path to Lawyer Wellness,
One Lawyer at a Time”
In 2018, Justice Elizabeth Walker of the West Virginia
Supreme Court of Appeals was appointed the
chairperson of the newly established Task Force on
Lawyer Well-Being. Justice Walker’s goal was and is
to address the substance abuse and mental health
issues adversely affecting the legal industry, one
attorney at a time. As the only Justice remaining on
the Court after 2018, Justice Walker will share the role
that lawyer wellness has played in her own life, both
in her private practice, and in her highly visible role
as Justice and Chief Justice of West Virginia Supreme
Court of Appeals.
