lawyers will
no doubt have
to tell their
clients’ stories
in a courtroom,

mediation, case
management conference, or
mock trial. They must also be
highly organized, structured,
and efficient at solving complex
legal problems. Enter FedTech
U, a weekend technology
workshop sponsored by the
Evolve Committee of the
FDCC. It is designed to assist
FDCC lawyers with integrating
technology tools to better tell a
client’s story and become more
organized and effective in the
practice of law.
Being persuasive is not just
about what you say but also how
you show it. Attendees will learn
how to deliver compelling and
visually impactful presentations
using apps such as TrialPad and
other tools designed to organize
and present complex evidence
effectively in trials, mediations,
and client meetings. A key skill
taught at FedTech U regarding
deposition transcripts will
be identifying and exporting
video clips using synchronized
transcripts. The course will
discuss creating depo video
clips for opening statements,
cross-examination, and
impeachment.
