     The day was a successful one,
and not just for IDS. Though the
official numbers weren’t in yet, by

     A quick look at enrollment
trends published by UNO’s Office
of Institutional Research explains
his optimism. Fall enrollement in
the five years prior to Hurricane
Katrina hovered around 17,000
students. In 2006, after taking a
huge post-Katrina dip, that num-
ber rebounded to approximately
11,700. It has steadily declined
since. UNO administrators are
