A huge thank you – to Evan Stuart.
Evan was a valuable member of the BWA Executive team for five years before resigning from his role as Deputy CEO in December 2023.
We thank Evan for his professionalism and dedication to BWA. We also thank him for assuming the role of Acting CEO for seven months, demonstrating his leadership during a critical juncture.
Evan’s successes include:
• Driving the release of our first ever Strategic Facilities Plan and working together with associations to secure Government commitments to expand and build new facilities
• Developing the Parliamentary Friends of Basketball to continue to promote and advocate within Parliament for our sport
• Seeing the sport grow from 35,000 to over 60,000 playing members in WA
• Expanding BWA’s operations into regional Western Australia
• Fostering strong relationships with sponsors, state and local government, stakeholders
and community organisations – ensuring the continued growth of basketball in WA
