A STRONG YEAR FOR THE PMBL COMPETITION
2021 was another strong year for the PMBL with the competition reaching capacity each season. 2021 saw the overall team numbers per season increase from an average of 192 teams per season in 2020 to 214 teams per season in 2021.
2021 saw PMBL embrace technology and go cashless with the introduction of Teampay. Teampay is an app which allows teams to pay their weekly game fee digitally and enables teams to split their game fee evenly between teammates which was well received by teams. The addition of Teampay reduced staffing costs by eliminating the need for a dedicated doorperson.
Much effort has gone into maintaining high refereeing standards at PMBL in 2021.
Our referees underwent education sessions with a focus on referee behaviour and professionalism as well as an understanding of expectations. A new referee code of conduct was established, additionally the PMBL referee panels were reworked to make them more aspirational and encourage referee development.
