A key achievement in 2019 was the introduction of modified rules for the younger age group (Years 3 and 4), with the aim being to increase players’ enjoyment and aid
in their development. These modifications included using size 4 balls, lowering ring heights, and increasing spacing on the floor.

The Champions Cup provides a more competitive opportunity for invited schools from our Smarter Than Smoking School Slam Series. The Champions Cup is a celebration of primary school basketball, with the top 16 boys’ and girls’ teams competing to be crowned the best basketball school for the year.

             Basketball WA would like to thank Healthway, for their continued support of the Smarter Than Smoking School Slam Series, and our delivery partners School Sport WA and SEDA. The series continues to provide an excellent platform for helping to educate young people about the benefits that basketball can provide in maintaining a happy and healthy lifestyle.
