Baby Boomers are rewriting history when
it comes to aging, with most deciding to
stay at home as they age rather than go
into nursing homes.
People today live longer with chronic
diseases. Heart attacks and strokes, which
used to be a death sentence, can now be
treated with nursing and therapy at home.
Technology and skilled care allow children
with complex medical conditions to go
home as soon as possible, even the most
medically fragile ones.
Nearly 60 million people in the U.S. – almost
20% of the population – live with a disability.
Many are active, working adults, and home-
based care allows them to lead full lives.
