Grant donation to her organiza- tion. While no definite decision has yet been made, she believes the money will most likely be used to continue financing their restor- ative justice program for juveniles.
“The program is meant for youth who are first-time offenders with alternative sentencing,” Bro- chu said.

is also a nonprofit group that has been working with area youth in 18 rural area communities since 1999. Their services include ed- ucation, engagement, and em- powerment to help youth avoid or recover from substance abuse. They include education, pro- grams, projects, and other fun, positive activities.
The final recipient on hand for the check presentations on June 14 was Martha Richards from Plymouth Area Commu- nity Closet. PACC is a nonprofit agency that provides heat assis-
tance through its Keep the Heat On program, runs a thrift shop, maintains a food bank, and over- sees the Meals for Many program in downtown Plymouth.
Meals for Many is currently not open, but the lodge approved PACC's use of the funds from their Spotlight Grant in any man- ner that best suits their needs.
Like the other recipients, Rich- ards was most grateful for both the Beacon and Spotlight grant donations from Plymouth Elks.
“We service 15 towns, and the numbers in our food pantry are
going sky high right now. We feel so lucky to be recipients of this money,” she said.
Winter fuel assistance is also in growing demand, and she assured Lewis that their donations would benefit area residents.
In addition to the two checks Richards received that night, Secretary Barton said the lodge recently learned about a real need for winter clothing for local children. She told Richards that Plymouth Elks would, therefore, forward a $500 voucher to PACC so the organization can also pur-
chase clothing in appropriate sizes. “It’s lovely that we can receive all this. Thank you so much,” said
Richards.
Three other nonprofit groups
could not be present that evening, but Lewis and Barton said they would see to it that they receive their checks as well – the N.H. Veterans’ Home in Tilton and the Boulder Point veteran hous- ing complex off Tenney Moun- tain Highway will receive a check from the Elks’ Freedom Grant
