February is a month for read- ing hoards of romcoms. Let’s face it: I don’t make the rules. What else are you going to read in February? Horror? Well, if it’s a horror romance, I suppose that counts. However, the book of the month for February is not a horror romance but a captivat- ing and sweet romantic comedy that had me turning every page, eager to get to the finish line. Forget Me Not by Julie Soto was

a fun-filled romance about two people who could not be more polar opposites. But, in my hum- ble opinion, those make for the best love stories.
Ama Torres is an unconven- tional wedding planner who doesn’t believe that marriage will last but sure knows a wed- ding party is a big deal. After seeing her mother crash and burn with a copious amount of marriages, Ama has decided that a long-term commitment isn’t for her. That doesn’t keep her away from the adrenaline-filled feeling she gets when she puts on that perfect wedding for a fantastic couple. When Ama has the opportunity to put on a high-profile wedding, it could finally be the chance she needs to catapult her career to get the high status she wants. But when the couple she’s working with insists on using Bloom’s Flowers for their wedding, Ama fears that her personal issues might destroy
this wedding.
Elliot Bloom took over his
dad’s flower shop after he passed away, and everyone is aware that the tall, broody flower man runs Bloom’s Flowers. But that doesn’t mean this quaint flower shop doesn’t have the best flowers in the game, and a high-sta- tus couple knows that. It’s been years since Ama Torres broke Elliot’s heart, so when he has to work with her on this wedding, things might get a little messy before the couple says “I do.”
Forget Me Not is a sweet, fun, and humorous story that highlights the ups and downs of commitment and working with your ex. Not to mention, these exes for sure still have feelings for each other. Ama is a quick-witted, spirited soul, while Elliot is the even-tem- pered, broody shop owner, and together, these two create quite
the dynamic. The sunshine and grump pairing is popular among romance lovers, and Julie Soto certainly delivered with this story. Reading about how Ama would stop at nothing to create this magical wedding for this couple
made her a main charac- ter worth rooting for. And we all know that no matter how many times Elliot had a bored look on his face, he was thinking about this fiery wedding planner who stole his heart.
This book contains love, grief, charm, and a whole lot of donuts. Ama and El- liot, among the cast of char- acters, gave life to this story, leaving readers with a strong sense of satisfaction once they read that final page. A good romance keeps a strong balance of love, sadness, and humor, and Forget Me Not does not lack any of those elements. Forget Me Not
not only captures the essence of a compelling romance but also serves as a poignant reminder that love, in all its forms, has the power to endure and flourish, just like flowers.
