CDFA Community Center Investment Program Resources to Support Renovations and Security Installation
BRISTOL – The New Hamp- shire Community Development Finance Authority (CDFA) has awarded the Tapply-Thompson Community Center with Com- munity Center Investment Pro- gram resources to support their Renovation Project known as ‘A Safe Place to Call Home’. The funds will be used to renovate and upgrade the current Cen- ter at 30 North Main Street in Bristol, NH, as well as include the installation of a full security
spectrum.
“We are so grateful for this op-
portunity as it will bring much- needed renovations and security upgrades to our Community Center. We are working with ar- chitects right now to incorporate a new gym floor, drainage and driveway repairs, relocation of the offices, painting of the steeple and front porch, security system, and new handicap bathrooms. We are in the final design stage and hope to begin work very
soon,” said Executive Director Leslie Dion.
Projects awarded Commu-
nity Center Investment Program resources have proven to be in- clusive, open to the public, and foster a culture of health and well-being in the communities they serve.
“We saw tremendous demand for Community Center Invest- ment Program resources and look forward to working with organizations across the Granite State to advance projects that are meeting the diverse, multifaceted needs of their communities,” stated Katy Easterly Martey, Ex- ecutive Director, CDFA.
“Projects awarded resources have demonstrated a strong ben- efit to their community by pro- viding opportunities for residents to be active, receive essential services, and engage with fellow residents in civic activities,” con- tinued Easterly Martey. “These investments will help nonprofits and municipalities improve and create spaces that are incredibly important for the health and vibrancy of New Hampshire’s communities.”
The Governor and Executive Council approved this investment of federal American Rescue Plan Act State Fiscal Recovery Funds on December 21, 2022. The Community Center Investment Program is being administered in coordination with the Governor’s Office for Emergency Relief and Recovery. These funds allow for deeper impacts within New Hampshire communities with one-time, strategic investments in critical infrastructure.
