Across New Hampshire and northern Massachusetts, the Hidden Battles Foundation con- tinues to expand its mission of supporting first responders and military personnel navigating PTSD, mental health challenges, and suicidal thoughts.
The nonprofit organization, dedicated to promoting healthy minds through connection, peer support, and movement, has re- mained active throughout the winter and into the spring with a variety of community-focused initiatives.
Hidden Battles’ work is cham- pioned by a dedicated team of leaders who bring real-world experience and passion to every program:
Scott Hyder – Executive Board Founder & President, Hidden Battles Radio Co-Host, Retired Law Enforcement, Army Veteran
Leslie Cregg-Hyder – Vice President & Event Director, Busi- ness Owner
Chris Hurst – Executive Board Member, Hidden Battles Radio Co-Host, Peer Support, Webmaster, Law Enforcement Communications Supervisor
Kris Lopez – Executive Board Treasurer, Chief of Staff, Data Security Company
Janice Hurst – Executive Board Secretary
Bill Ely – Executive Board Member, Financial Management Project Manager, Multi-Family Development
Most recently, members of the foundation spent the day at Plymouth State University, par- ticipating in the Skate for the 22 Foundation game as part of the university’s Morgan’s Mes- sage Mental Health Weekend. The event brought together athletes, students, and mental health advocates to highlight the importance of awareness and support—a cause closely aligned with Hidden Battles’ work.
In addition to special events, Hidden Battles also has its regu- lar programming to build resil- ience through shared experience. Weekly rucks and hikes have re- mained a staple of the organiza- tion’s efforts, offering participants a relaxed and supportive envi- ronment centered on connection rather than performance.

Foundation leaders an- nounced that Hidden Battles was awarded funding through Swim With A Mission to support the continued expansion of the Em- powerHER program.
“We are grateful to have re- ceived funding in partnership with Swim With A Mission for our EmpowerHER program,” organizers shared on a Facebook post. “It allows us to continue building a holistic approach to mental well-being designed spe- cifically for women by women.”
Hidden Battles Foundation also continues to explore cre- ative avenues for wellness, offer- ing comedy-based workshops and operating its own Hidden Battles radio station. These pro- grams provide participants with additional ways to build commu- nity, share experiences, and find healthy outlets for stress.
Looking ahead, Hidden Battles is preparing for several upcoming events to strengthen community engagement.
