Join NLRA Watershed Steward Shannon Mc- Cord to explore nature journaling at Grey Rocks Conservation Area on Friday, August 2 at 10am. We know that getting outside has many benefits and slowing down to notice the nature around us can help with our physical and mental health. Come learn about how time in nature and nature journaling impacts people, explore Grey Rocks in a new way, and leave with journ- aling activities to try on your own! This free program is oriented toward teens & adults.

Open new realms each week as our Lead Naturalist helps participants of all ages focus their senses on different fascinating elements of their surroundings such as: birds, trees, ferns, wildflowers, and more. Limited pairs of binoculars are available for use. Participants are encouraged to bring their own binoculars and/or field guides for further exploration. Join us at the top of Little Round Top and Inspiration Point for a viewing of the meteor shower while enjoy- ing some munchies. Bring a flash light and follow the Worthen Trail to the top. Trees are amazing and do so much for the eco- systems they inhabit – capturing carbon and producing oxygen, soaking up water to reduce runoff, and providing habitat and food. We can learn a lot about trees from looking at their leaves and bark, but did you know that we can also learn from looking at the insides of trees? Join NLRA educators as we take a closer look at trees- search for common trees at Grey Rocks, learn about tree biology, and make a craft to take home! Nature Station is a drop-in program with activities designed for kids of all ages. This program is free and open to all.
