When asked about the most rewarding part of teaching these classes, Tayler shared, “I believe that true happiness comes from selflessness. Seeing people not only learn these skills but also enjoy the process is incredibly fulfilling. We witness these indi- viduals grow, step out of their
comfort zones, and build their confidence. And not only that, they are acquiring a skill set that can keep themselves and others safe.” This personal growth jour- ney is a testament to the transfor- mative power of the program.
The Tactical Defense and Mixed Martial Arts class is a great team-building event that can help mitigate stress in re-
sponders and veterans. People don’t talk about mental health as often, so when members come together, share this outlet, and are surrounded by a sense of ca- maraderie, they start to feel the effects of stress relief.
The Tactical Defense and Mixed Martial Arts class is cur- rently held quarterly, but RTNH
