BRISTOL—Join the New- found Lake Region Association (NLRA) and Slim Baker Founda- tion as NLRA’s Watershed Stew- ards, Jenna Detar, and Anthony Jaster, reflect on their service ex- perience as Americorps members serving in the Newfound Water- shed. On Thursday, October 6th, at 6 pm, Anthony and Jenna will host a fireside chat with s’mores outside the Slim Baker Lodge at 301 New Chester Mountain Rd, Bristol, NH.
As part of the Lakes Region Conservation Corps (LRCC), a region-wide AmeriCorps pro- gram, Watershed Stewards lend their time and talents to further the mission of conserving the Newfound watershed during a six-month service period. Jenna and Anthony have supported water quality monitoring of

and visitors, and worked with community partners on projects around the watershed. Now that their service period is drawing to a close, Anthony and Jenna talk about their work with NLRA and LRCC this summer, share their experiences in the water- shed, and reflect on what they’ve learned through the program. This program is free and open to the public, but registration is re- quired. Participants can register at NewfoundLake.org/events.
The Newfound Lake Region Association’s mission is to pro- tect Newfound Lake and its wa-
tershed. Through educational programs, NLRA promotes con- servation and preservation of the region’s natural, social, and eco- nomic resources. The NLRA’s other initiatives include water quality monitoring of Newfound Lake and its tributaries, invasive species management, stormwa- ter management, and connecting with the public to create a culture of stewardship in the Newfound community.
