Cemetery Volunteer Program
This past Sunday, May 15th, the Town of Bristol Cemetery Trustees conducted a cleanup of three cemeteries, Heath (Route 104), Sanborn (Peaked Hill Road), and Sleeper #2 (Akerman Road). This was accomplished using a new program, the His- toric Cemetery Volunteer Pro- gram, that the Trustees formed over the last six months. This pro- gram is set up so that local groups and organizations can volunteer to clean the Town Cemeteries by working with the Trustees at least twice a year, spring and fall. Our Cemeteries are a non-renewable cultural resource and we want to respect these unique pieces of history. Point of contact for this program is: Richard LaFlamme, Chairman, dickie752@yahoo. com, 603-217-0471.
This was the first time the program was implemented with a local group, Scout Troup 59. The cleanup went well with twelve participants raking, re- moving brush, and repairing sig- nage. Work crews included Beck LaRoche, Broderick Edwards, Hannah Upperman, Heather Baker, Hunter LaRoche, Jamie LaRoche, Jason North (Scout- master), Jason Robert (Scout-
