This Free food pantry is located in the upper half of our parking lot at 12 Bristol Hill Rd. Donations of non-expired, shelf-stable items are welcome! This pantry gets a ton of use and will be empty before the end of the week.
If full, feel free to drop the items off at Piggyback Rides, and we will restock.

Martha Twombly, NLCP committee mem- ber and NLRA trustee, will lead this explo- ration of parts of a 500 acre conservation property in Alexandria that includes fea- tures such as a bog, cliffs, and foundation remains. This moderate hike is approxi- mately 3 miles. Dogs are not allowed.

Ages 12 and up. All participants will learn the basics of babysitting and get certified in both CPR and First Aid. The cost for the program is $110, and you must register by 9/26 as space is limited.
SCARECROWS IN THE SQUARE!
Entries may begin arriving on October 1. Frames are available for purchase from the Bristol Historical Society for only $3.00! If you wish to purchase one con- tact Lucille Keegan at 603-744-2751. To be eligible to win a prize you must com- plete and display your scarecrow and sub- mit an entry form & photo by October 23, 2023. Entry forms can be downloaded on the bristolevents@bristolnh.gov or pick one up at the Town Offices, the TTCC or the Minot-Sleeper Library.
APPLE PICKING
Take a ride to Cardigan Mountain Or- chard in Alexandria to pick some apples! From September to October 28th, you can go and pick apples from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Be sure to check out the farm stand for apples, pies, donuts, cider, and more!

We will be holding our 40th Annual Apple Festival and Craft Fair. Homemade Apple Pies, Baked Beans, and Fresh Bread will be front and center, as pies can be pre-or- dered by calling 744-2713. The Craft Fair will be in the TTCC gym with a variety of crafters and vendors for some early Christmas Shopping. Table Space is still available, as we are looking for some help on Friday, 10/6, from 9am to 4pm, to cut apples and prepare pies.

In Loving Memory of Donald L. Estes
Local and Hard Working to Serve you Bristol & Hebron
Donald L Estes, from Bridge- water, NH, died on September 4th after being hit by a car during his morning walk. Don, age 89, was born in Boston MA on August 21, 1934 to Horace B and Louise (Otto) Estes and was raised and educated in Weymouth MA.
Don graduated from Boston University in 1962 with a BS in En- gineering and from Fitchburg State College in 1972, with an MS in Ed- ucation. He was also an Air Force veteran.
Don married the former Jane M. Forbush in 1957 and together, they lived in Portland ME and Albuquer- que NM, before moving to Westford MA where they started their family. Later, they moved to Chelmsford MA where their children graduated from high school. In 1995, Don and
who enjoyed weekly golf outings, coffee at Gilly’s and spending time together commiserating about their lives.
Don is survived by his wife Jane; three sons-James E Estes of Rich- mond VT, David E Estes of Ells- worth ME, and Douglas E Estes of Williamsport, PA and six grand- children- Jacob, Jessica, David Jr, Rosalee, Ty, and Trevor. Don was predeceased by his granddaughter, Lurah Lee. This November, Don and Jane would have celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary.
Memorial donations may be made to St Jude’s Hospital. A cele- bration of Don’s life is planned for October 28th starting at 1PM at the Bridgewater Town Hall, 297 May- hew Turnpike, Bridgewater, NH. RSVP’s appreciated.

Don retired from Textron (for- merly Avco) in Wilmington MA in 1990 and enjoyed hiking, kayaking, golf, and skiing. While retired in Bridgewater, Don developed a close bond with group of like-minded men
