Fishing is a great pastime and can be enjoyed by all, nov- ice, pro... whomever. There all as many types and techniques as there are fisherman, no mat- ter what level of experience and or expertise you are at, there is endless places and opportunities you can take advantage of. Fish- ing is not just for the initiated, it’s one of the few activities you can take part in and have great success even without a clue as to what you are doing. Bait a hook, put it in almost any body of water, fresh, salt, muddy, clear... and you have increased your odds of success infinitesimally. It’s that simple people!! I have talked with people who want to fish, they just don’t know where or how?? Just get out there and get going. It’s a fairly inexpensive activity that anyone, regardless of race, color, gender or creed. Fish tend to be fairly indiscrimi- nate across any and all platforms. They don’t care if you are Bi, straight, male, female or a pro- noun person, they don’t hate and are willing to sacrifice themselves for your enjoyment.

Take your kids or grandkids out on a fall fishing excursion. Chances are it’ll be a more rewarding ex- perience than endless time play- ing on the computer or a cell phone. Don’t let high tech keep babysit your kids, get them off of the digits, out of the basement, off of the couch and let nature entertain them like this weeks pic of a friends son taking an ac- tive interest in his kids for a great day of fishing. son, this is the time to get out on your honey whole. Early fall is my favorite time to be on the water and in hot pursuit of largemouth, but I will stoop to conquer and go after smallies if the largemouth aren’t on the bite. Hit the weed beds hard and often, especially
during the full moon phases. I like to take advantage of the nighttime during the autumn season. When the fish first sense the cooler temps and shorter day, the get down to business and start stuffing themselves for the long winter which they feel is
coming on quick. Not only is the fall my favorite time for fishing, but it means less activity on the lakes, less human activity, equates to more fish activity. Those cool, crisp mornings that lead to warm comfortable afternoons along with the natural beauty of the
