Clean Up Bristol Day
Big Love for Local Biz Block Party on Newfound May 17th
Before the summer tourists arrive and lake life is in full swing, the Newfound commu- nity welcomes you to a town- wide kick-off celebration: The Small Biz Block Party!
The event’s inception began as an inspired way to create community around Bristol’s lat- est store, Stay Rooted on Lake Street. opening May 10th.
“I wanted to celebrate the opening of my shop,” explains owner Janice Snyder of Bristol. “And I wanted to share the cel- ebration with the community... use it as an opportunity to net- work on Newfound, highlight- ing so many of our great local businesses.”
An advocate for shopping small and supporting local events, Janice started her small business Stay Rooted two years ago, vending her handcrafted home accessories at markets

and fairs.
“I connected with other
vendors and artists through my work,” Janice expressed, “which inspired me to create more community events that help one another thrive in our community.”
How it works: grab a trea-
sure map at any participating location. Head out on a lake- side adventure, explore local shops, meet artisans and mak- ers, join in fun activities, and take in the creative energy of the community. Get your map stamped at each stop for a chance to win raffle prizes from local businesses!
Stay Rooted will be a pop-up location of vendors, specials, live music and mural painting.
This FREE, family-friendly event brings together every- thing we love about our re- gion—local art, food, music, and small businesses. We hope you’ll adventure out and sup- port local!
In the event of inclement weather, the event will be re- scheduled to Sunday, May 18th. Please visit BigLoveMar- ket.com for vendor info and event updates.
Join your neighbors on Sat- urday, May 17, at Kelley Park Band Shell, 10:00 a.m. - Noon, in Downtown Bristol, for the spring Clean Up Bristol Day. Families, friends, school groups, community organizations, and businesses are all encouraged to participate.
Clean up Bristol Day is a chance for residents of all ages to come together. Cleaning up our town helps to improve our public spaces. It creates a sense of pride in our community. Last year we collected 30 bags of trash.
If you want to help out, stop by the band shell at Kelley Park
on North Main Street in Bris- tol anytime between 10:00 a.m. and Noon on Saturday, May 17. Members of the Sustainability Committee will be handing out trash bags and gloves as well as fruit to provide energy through- out the morning. Volunteers will be able to choose the location in town they wish to clean up. Don’t forget to bring your water in a re- usable bottle.
Event sponsored by Sustain- ability Committee, Town of Bris- tol. For more information, contact Janet Metcalf, metcalfjanetj@ gmail.com or 603-744-0440.
