NLRA Welcomes Isabella Giancola as Conservation Program Coordinator
The Newfound Lake Region Association(NLRA) is pleased to welcome Isabella Giancola to the role of Conservation Pro- gram Coordinator. The Con- servation Program Coordinator position is a new one at NLRA and reflects increasing demand for NLRA programs. Isabella will lead and grow NLRA’s ef- forts in invasive species man- agement, oversee the continued restoration and stewardship of Grey Rocks Conservation Area, and manage the AmeriCorps Watershed Steward program.
“NLRA is growing to meet the conservation needs of New- found,” says NLRA Executive Director Rebecca Hanson. Adding a Conservation Pro- gram Coordinator to our team is an exciting step forward. This
position encompasses educa- tion, conservation, and program management, and Isabella has shown herself to be uniquely qualified to take on these re- sponsibilities.”
Isabella grew up in New Hampshire, where her love for nature and wildlife began at an early age. Raised on a small hobby farm, she spent most of her time outside exploring the world around her. After earning her bachelor’s degree in Envi- ronmental Science from Whea- ton College in Massachusetts, Isabella moved to Bristol, where she quickly fell in love with the area’s natural beauty and close- knit community.
Isabella served as an Ameri- Corps Watershed Steward with NLRA in 2023. She partici-
pated in stormwater manage- ment projects, ran educational programming, connected with Grey Rocks visitors, and mon- itored water quality, becoming familiar with NLRA’s programs and initiatives. More recently, Isabella worked as an Education Assistant with New Hampshire Audubon, where she provided environmental education pro- gramming to students around the state.
