Quincy Bog Nature Center Expands Summer Programs
RUMNEY – The Quincy Bog Nature Center is excited to announce a significant expansion of its summer programming for 2025! With a variety of nature walks and evening programs, the center is offering more opportu- nities for the public to explore the natural beauty of the region. All programs will be provided at no cost, and donations are grate- fully accepted. The Evening Pro- grams will take place at 7:00 at the Nature Center, located at 131 Quincy Bog Rd. in Rumney, on the second and fourth Wednes- days of June, Jul, and August. During the spring and summer months, walks will leave from the Nature Center at varying times; several begin with a brief slide presentation before going out- doors to explore the Bog.
The Quincy Bog Nature Center is a hub for outdoor edu- cation, offering visitors a chance to connect with nature and gain a deeper understanding of the surrounding ecosystems. The center, nestled within the 43-acre Quincy Bog Natural Area, fea- tures a pond, wetlands, and up- land forest, providing a diverse habitat for local wildlife. Visitors can explore the site, which is home to a wide array of plant and animal life, including bog/ fen vegetation and a thriving bea- ver colony. The Nature Center, open during the summer months, also offers a beautiful view of the pond from its deck and houses a collection of educational artifacts and displays.
The summer 2025 program- ming includes a mix of evening programs and weekend walks designed to engage and educate the public on various aspects of nature and local history. These programs are open to everyone and provide a unique opportu- nity to learn from experts in the
field, enjoy the outdoors, and en- gage with the natural world.

August 13: Pam Hunt – " Bog, Fen, and Swamp"
August 27: Chris Martin – "Bald Eagles in New Hampshire"
All evening programs will be followed by an informal recep- tion with refreshments. These events are made possible in part by the Ruth V. Fisher Fund, sup-
porting the mission to provide educational opportunities in nat- ural history.

Walks will be held in light rain or shine but may be can- celed in the event of severe storms or high winds. Cancel- lations will be posted on the kiosks at the Bog and on the Quincy Bog Facebook page. Participants are encouraged to wear appropriate clothing and gear for each event, as weather conditions may vary. These walks and events offer an op-
